Fall Term

A new semester! A new poster! Hola todos! I hope summer has been going well and that it has been filled with a healthy dose of flamenco fun! If you haven't registered yet, do! The fall semester begins on Sept. 6th.

¡Hola! With August winding down, we are getting closer and closer to the new fall semester of flamenco instruction here at Karen Flamenco. Going through the mental checklist of dance supplies, I realized that I am in desperate need for new shoes (you can practically see my toes peeking out).
Did you have the same thought? Well, it's your lucky blog post! There's no need to panic, search or pay for an expensive ticket to Spain just for shoes (but if you can afford to pay for a ticket using the shoes as an excuse, why not?)! Flamenco and Shakespeare

If you have a chance this summer, watch Much Ado About Nothing (click) at Bard on the Beach and you will get to see a flamenco flare in the classic Shakespeare comedy thanks to our own, Karen Pitkethly! This was definitely a whole new way to experience sevillanas: actors on stage, dancing while speaking in Shakespearean verse! Here's a peak at the playbill (click for larger image)...

Tangos Por Fiesta

¡Hola todos! Starting next week, there will be a four day workshop focusing on tangos por fiesta. Come and learn one of Spain's festive dances and you will be able to show off your brand new dance moves at a flamenco feria! :)(image source)
